Just suppose that God would begin to make people as sick during the week as they claim to be on Sunday.
Just suppose the Lord would take away all speech from those who claim they can’t teach a Sunday School class, but who can talk nonstop on the phone for hours.
Just suppose God would produce lameness for those who eagerly scramble to get a front seat at the ballgame, but who slither into the back seat in the church service.
Just suppose the Lord would make invalids of those who claim that Sunday is their only day to “sleep in.”
Just suppose God would make people as poor as they claim to be when asked to help finance the program of the Church.
Just suppose the Lord would allow blindness to come to those who can read a 60-page Sunday newspaper, but can’t read one chapter from the Scriptures.
Just suppose God would permit boils to cover the bodies of those who wildly applaud when the ballgame goes into overtime, but who turn sour when the minister’s sermon goes more than thirty minutes.
Just suppose the Lord would poison the food of those who have “cooked preacher” for Sunday dinner week after week.
Just suppose God would take away the daily employment of those who can’t fit a Gospel meeting into their schedules (with even a year to plan for it!), but who can adjust their schedules for other events at a moment’s notice.
Just suppose the Lord would take away the child whom the parents use as an excuse for staying away from services.
Just suppose God would allow mental retardation to inflict all those who seem to have difficulty sharing the Gospel with others, but who have no trouble whatsoever explaining subjects far more difficult.
